Water therapy involves a variety of gentle treatments and exercise programs that take place in a pool. These programs provide relief of pain by relieving pressure on the joints, and also help to strength and condition muscles to maintain flexibility in the joints. Water therapy is especially effective for patients with osteoarthritis, where normal land-based exercises may be too painful.
