I had a quadruple bypass heart surgery this past February. After that, I went into Cardiac Rehab which has been great for me. After two months into the program, they put me on an elliptical machine. Shortly after that I started having some right knee problems. Went for X-Rays and MRI, got the results today. Moderate torn meniscus on all sides. But the bigger problem was the amount of arthritis in my knees.
So, the Orthopedic surgeon came up with this plan:
Steroid Injection to relieve some of the arthritis pain
Autoscopic surgery to remove the meniscus tears
Complete knee replacement
But since I had the heart surgery, the doctor does not want to jump into major surgery. So, first we will see how the steroids work.. If not, we can do up to two more injections. If I do not get relief after that, then its the meniscus surgery. All the doctor is trying to do, and I agree is by me some time.
