Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) attacks healthy cells and is produced by people who have autoimmune disorders. ANA is common in autoimmune disorders, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It is sometimes associated with rheumatoid arthritis. The ANA lab test detects the presence of ANA in the blood.
