Hip Pain
The hip is where the femur (thigh bone) meets the pelvis in a ball and socket joint. This weight-bearing joint in the body is susceptible to degeneration (osteoarthritis), injury, or auto-immune changes.
Hip joint pain can range from a dull ache in the groin or thigh to sharp, stabbing pains in the area of movement. Hip pain from arthritis can be exacerbated by extended inactivity, prolonged weight-bearing activities, or certain actions such as bending over or lying on the back.
