Hyaluronic acid injection, also called hyaluronan injection or viscosupplementation, is a medical procedure during which lubricating fluid is injected into a joint. It is most commonly used to treat symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.

The goal of hyaluronic acid injections is to facilitate better joint movement, reduce pain, and perhaps slow osteoarthritis progression.
